Winklevoss Brothers’ Gemini Exchange To Add Bitcoin Cash And Litecoin

The famous cryptocurrency investors the Winklevoss twins announced their plans for their crypto exchange Gemini. They said that the platform will add Litecoin and Bitcoin Cash this year. Currently, Gemini trades only Bitcoin and Ethereum. Tyler Winklevoss spoke to media at a Cboe event held in Florida and confirmed that expansion of Gemini’s offerings would be “from the Satoshi Nakamoto family tree – Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin.

The action comes in the wake of Gemini’s recent partnership with Cboe Global Markets Inc. The Cboe intends to start trading futures contracts with cryptocurrencies other than Bitcoin. It will be profitable for both parties to open Litecoin and Bitcoin Cash trading.

The relationship between Gemini and Cboe is based on an exclusive deal. When it was announced about the deal, Tyler Winklevoss described the agreement as scalable, a clear hint at the potential for future expansion of offerings.

The Winklevoss twins also emphasised their confidence in cryptocurrency speaking at a Cboe event in Florida, though Bitcoin recently showed a fall in price and trading volume. The cryptocurrency slumped to $8300 last week, with the price of Ethereum, Bitcoin Cash and Ripple also falling 11% respectively. The reason of this drop-off can be attributed to an Mt. Gox trustee selling off $400 million USD of Bitcoin. But Tyler Winklevoss pointed the days when the price of Bitcoin was just $8, and insisted that the long-term trend was still moving in the right direction.
