Singapore-based enterprise-friendly public blockchain platform VeChain has reported about a new blockchain tracing platform, called Foodgates, for the food & beverage sector. The statement was released during the China International Import Expo 2019.

VeChain has developed this new system cooperating with food certification group DNV GL & supply chain specialist ASI Group.

This new blockchain tracking structure is the 1st of its type solution, being powered by a public blockchain with verified & certified data of the tracked good’s complete lifecycle.

Co-founder of Foodgates Mathieu Borgé mentioned that they have created a system connecting the greatest sides of French goods with purchasers from China.

“We know that traceability & authenticity are essential when it comes to Food & Beverage products,” said Borgé.

Foodgates co-founder mentioned that the system that is based on blockchain is intended to bring transparency as well as traceability to the B2B market between France & China, at the same time allowing French product makers have much quicker as well as safer availability to the enormous Chinese market.

VeChain COO Kevin Feng stated that VeChain is intended to adopt blockchain technology in order to power the economy. Speaking about the new system, he mentioned that it has a great potential because the French goods are entering China’s gigantic food market.
