Russian Scientists Will Be Engaged In The Development Of Quantum Cryptography

A special center at the University of Moscow will develop the standards of quantum communication. In addition, the center’s specialists will work on data protection systems using quantum cryptography.

The center of quantum communications, formed at the National University of Science and Technology MISiS, will be engaged in the creation of standards in the field of quantum communications. This was reported by the head of the laboratory of quantum communications center Yuri Kurochkin.

In addition to the development of standards for the field of quantum communications, the specialists of the center of competence of National Technological Initiative (NTI) will deal with the security of data transmission over quantum networks and protection of information from hackers. This includes not only quantum computers, but also satellite systems, drones and “Internet of things” devices.

During the first year, the necessary infrastructure will be created in the Center, and the first results of work in six specific areas will be demonstrated by the participants of the consortium of the Center in 2019.

Earlier, scientists from the United States said that quantum computers will not pose a threat to the security of blockchain networks. By 2019, the specialists of the Russian quantum center also plan to present the first Russian quantum blockchain.
