RESEARCH: THE NUMBER OF VERIFIED CRYPTO USERS IS GROWING SIGNIFICANTLY

According to Bloomberg, citing the results of a study by the center for alternative Finance of Cambridge University, the number of confirmed users of cryptocurrencies has almost doubled in the first three quarters of this year. Currently, there are 35 million such users, although last year there were only 18 million. According to analysts, this data can be important to predict the behavior of the cryptocurrency market, because if the technology users’ number continues to grow, despite the protracted trend of decline, eventually it can switch to a healthy recovery.

In addition, it was found that not only the number of users of cryptocurrencies, but also the number of accounts in the blockchains is growing.

“The strongest growth was observed in 2017, but the number of new user accounts, as well as the number of users verified on the basis of documents, is growing steadily in 2018,” they added.

At the same time, analysts do not provide data on the growth of the unverified users’ number separately. It is possible that the positive dynamics recorded by them is partly connected with the tightening of the regulatory situation in the cryptocurrency space this year.

In mid-November, the number of full nodes in the bitcoin network exceeded 10 000, thus returning to the indicators of March, 2018.
