HEAD OF PANTERA CAPITAL: “IT IS NOT NECESSARY TO WORRY ABOUT CRYPTO WINTER”
CEO of the leading Pantera Capital Fund, Dan Morehead said that all conditions for institutional investors have been created in the cryptocurrency market for the first time. However, there will be no massive influx of new money until the price of bitcoin starts to rise. The process of legal regulation of cryptocurrencies in the United States will end within the next 6-9 months.
Dan Morehead, CEO of Pantera Capital crypto Fund, recommended to worry less about crypto.
During an interview for the podcast “Unconfirmed”, Morehead noted that Pantera Capital is already experiencing a second “bear” market, the first cycle was in 2014-2015. Then the head of the investment company was seriously worried about whether the blockchain technology would work. In addition, there were “real regulatory risks” at the time.
Today, the fundamentals of cryptocurrencies are “much, much stronger” than in the crypto-winter of 2014-2015, Morehead is sure. According to him, Pantera Capital invests with the prospect of 5 to 10 years, so the company’s strategy is not affected by “distracting” daily fluctuations in bitcoin prices.
Dan Morehead also expects that the process of legal regulation of cryptocurrency assets in the United States will be completed in the next 6-9 months. During this time, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) will determine the standards for which cryptocurrencies should be considered securities.
At the end of the last year, Pantera Capital reported a 60% increase in revenues of its VFII venture division, despite the “bearish” cryptocurrency market.
