Air France KLM And Winding Tree Collaborate To The Development Of The Tourism Industry Using Blockchain

Air France KLM said today that it is joining forces with a Swiss non-profit organization to strengthen the tourism industry through the blockchain.

Founded in 2017, Winding Tree is a decentralized platform for distribution of travel open source on the basis of the blockchain. Its purpose is to provide cheaper travel for users while at the same time being beneficial to suppliers.

In today’s announcement, Air France KLM said it will support the startup’s technological developments, testing the blockchain and providing feedback as it develops. The partnership sees Air France KLM as one of the first airlines to join the Winding Tree. The platform has also teamed up with Nordic Choice hotel to bypass middlemen such as Expedia and Booking.com.

Pedro Anderson, founder and CEO of Winding Tree, explained that partnering with Air France KLM means he will be able to use the technology to deliver “real innovation and increase customer satisfaction.”

News about this partnership comes at a time when the cryptocurrency market and blockchain are advancing in the tourism sector.
